Briefly describe your professional career:
With a degree in Social Communication from the University of Minho and an MBA from Porto Business School, my professional career has always been linked to communication, institutional relations and government affairs. My career includes stints in the European Parliament and the European Commission, where I worked with President Durão Barroso and, later, as diplomatic and media advisor to the President of the Portuguese Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa. In the private sector, I led Hologic's Government Affairs department in the Iberian Peninsula (based in Madrid), developing communication and public relations strategies. I currently represent the Douro Intermunicipal Community and the Porto Metropolitan Area in Brussels through Magellan Circle, where I work on business development and institutional representation.
Briefly describe your company and its work:
With offices in Brussels, Porto and Genoa, Magellan Circle supports public and private entities in their interaction with the European institutions, promoting funding opportunities and collaboration in various areas, including transport, mobility, circular economy and strategic communication. At Magellan Circle I am a consultant, responsible for the Brussels office and I represent our clients institutionally before the European institutions. My work involves advocacy, strategic networking and business development.
