ABOUT THE CHAMBER
HOW DOES THE CCBP HELP PORTUGUESE INDIVIDUALS AND COMPANIES ENTERING THE BELGIAN MARKET?
We offer tailored support including market intelligence, legal and fiscal insights, matchmaking services, and network introductions. Through our events and working groups, companies and organisations gain visibility and access to key stakeholders. We also help them understand the local business culture, and in some cases, we can provide soft-landing support in collaboration with our partners. Our location in Brussels allows us to connect companies and organisations with specialists in EU funding, regulation, and compliance. For many growing companies, entering the Belgian market also means navigating EU rules — whether in labelling, data protection, ESG reporting, or certification. Our network includes professionals who deal with these challenges daily and can provide practical guidance and partnerships. We help companies not just export, but scale with the right strategic foundations.
WHAT ADDED VALUE DOES THE CCBP OFFER COMPARED TO OTHER CHAMBERS?
The CCBP offers deep cultural and linguistic understanding, a multisectoral and multinational membership, and a pragmatic, results-driven approach. We are a small but agile Chamber with strong ties to both business and institutional actors, allowing us to react quickly and tailor our support to members’ needs. Our proximity to EU institutions and integration in Brussels’ policy ecosystem are major assets. We not only bring businesses together but also connect them with regulators, lawmakers, funding experts, and thought leaders. In addition, we offer a gateway to the broader Lusophone world — something few chambers in Brussels can claim. We value collaboration and actively seek partnerships with other chambers and business networks to co-create events and provide our members with richer content and connections. This ecosystem approach helps our members grow in small but strategic markets. What truly sets us apart is our presence in Brussels and our strong EU institutional and lobbying network. Many of our members work directly with the European Commission, Parliament, and stakeholder platforms. This creates a unique interface between business needs and EU policy realities — we offer our members not just a network, but a gateway to information, influence, and opportunity at the European level.
WHAT TYPES OF COMPANIES ARE CURRENTLY SHOWING INTEREST IN THE CHAMBER?
We are seeing growing interest from a diverse range of companies: Portuguese firms expanding their footprint in Northern Europe, Belgian companies sourcing from or investing in Portugal, and increasingly, businesses looking to leverage the Portuguese language as an economic asset — including startups aiming to internationalise. Our expanding network includes companies and individuals from multiple sectors: public affairs, law, IT, technology, retail, gastronomy, and cultural promotion are among those with strong representation. The Chamber is open to anyone interested in strengthening their business relationships within the Belgian and Portuguese markets.
HOW WILL THE CHAMBER EXPAND ITS INTERNATIONAL REACH IN THE NEXT YEARS AHEAD?
We believe that internationalisation must be tangible. That’s why we are committed to organising at least one trade mission per year, alternating between Portugal (and its autonomous regions) and Belgium, focusing on high-potential sectors such as technology, renewable energy, and agri-food. These missions combine institutional access, market exploration, and B2B meetings, providing participants with a full 360º experience. Beyond that, we will continue to collaborate with other chambers, CPLP embassies, and EU-related business platforms to position the CCBP as a connector of ideas, opportunities, and international networks. Our goal is simple: to help our members grow — strategically, sustainably, and globally.
