Last week, the Belgian-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce had the pleasure of hosting another “Meet the Members” session, this time in partnership with My Portuguese Friends.
Welcomed in their beautiful shop in Braine-l'Alleud, we spent a truly enjoyable moment discovering a space that is much more than a store much more than a store — it is a vibrant hub of Portuguese culture and enterpreneurship.
From carefully selected Portuguese wines and olive oils to traditional food products and artisan items, the visit offered a genuine taste of Portugal in the heart of Belgium — complemented by delicious finger food that brought everyone together in a warm and informal atmosphere.
Beyond the products, what stood out most was the enterpreneurial journey behind the project. As the only Portuguese shop serving a community of around 600 Portuguese adults in Braine-l’Alleud since 2012, My Portuguese Friends has built an impressive and inspiring evolution, becoming a key reference point for the local diaspora.
Our discussions also highlighted the growing potential of their catering services, opening new opportunities to bring Portuguese flavours and hospitality to a wider audience.
These “Meet the Members” moments are at the core of what we do at CCBP: connecting people, showcasing our members' success stories, and strengthening the Portuguese business community abroad.
A warm thank you to the My Portuguese Friends team for their generous welcome and inspiring exchange.
