Event Report: Portugal Live It! + Portugal Cup 2026

EVENT RECAP OVERVIEW

More than one hundred participants attended the two events organised by the Belgian-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce, bringing together representatives from the financial, real estate, tourism, business and institutional sectors to showcase investment opportunities, business prospects and quality of life in Portugal.

On 22 and 23 May 2026, the Belgian-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce (CCBP) organised two of its flagship initiatives: Portugal Live It!, held at the Pestana Brussels Schuman Hotel in Brussels, and Portugal Cup 2026, its annual golf tournament, held at Château de la Bawette in Wavre.

The events brought together entrepreneurs, investors, representatives of European institutions, banks, real estate developers, professionals, members of the Portuguese community and institutional partners, confirming the growing interest in Portugal as a destination for investment, residence, tourism and business development.

PORTUGAL LIVE IT:

Portugal as a destination to live, invest and do business

Portugal Live It! provided participants with a comprehensive overview of the opportunities Portugal offers in the fields of investment, real estate, finance, tourism and quality of life.

As the main sponsors of the initiative and members of the CCBP, Caixa Geral de Depósitos and Santander Portugal presented their financing solutions and support services for Portuguese expatriates and international investors interested in developing projects in Portugal. Both institutions highlighted their role in supporting home purchases, real estate investment and the international expansion of business projects, underlining the importance of specialised banking support for those investing from abroad.

Turismo de Portugal presented the excellent performance of the Belgian market and its growth prospects for the coming years, highlighting Portugal as one of Europe’s most attractive destinations for tourism, residence and investment. Safety, quality of life, accessibility, cultural heritage, gastronomy, climate and regional diversity were identified as some of the factors that continue to attract visitors, residents and investors from around the world.

Participants also had the opportunity to discover MVRX – Ambrose Hill, presented by Nic Reynaert, an innovative project currently being developed in Ericeira, combining hospitality, longevity, wellbeing, sport, business community and real estate investment. The project generated considerable interest among attendees, reflecting the growing demand for concepts that combine quality of life, work and investment opportunities.

The programme also included a presentation by Travel Tomorrow, the international media platform specialising in tourism, travel and mobility, which showcased its editorial projects and highlighted Portugal’s increasing international visibility and appeal.

Imocomunidades presented its digital platform designed to connect Portuguese communities abroad, Portuguese descendants and international investors with real estate opportunities in Portugal, facilitating access to trusted partners and investment opportunities across the country.

PORTUGAL CUP:

Sport, networking and the promotion of Portugal

The following day, Château de la Bawette hosted Portugal Cup 2026, the annual golf tournament of the Belgian-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce.

In addition to the competition itself, the event included a golf initiation session for participants with no previous golfing experience, broadening participation and making the event more inclusive. The strong turnout confirmed the growing appeal of a format that combines sport, networking and the discovery of Portugal.

On a particularly warm and sunny day, participants enjoyed excellent conditions on the course. The breaks and networking moments throughout the tournament were especially appreciated, with the Super Bock beers offered during the day providing welcome refreshment for players and guests alike.

The afternoon culminated in the prize-giving ceremony and a closing cocktail reception, creating an excellent opportunity for networking and conviviality among participants, partners and sponsors, and bringing to a close two days entirely dedicated to promoting Portugal and strengthening ties between the Belgian and Portuguese communities.
