đ Last Tuesday, CCBP President Kathleen Figueiredo Laissy had the opportunity to take part in a working meeting at the European Parliament, at the invitation of MEP Ana Vasconcelos, portuguese member of Renew Europe/Iniciativa Liberal, on the Performance Regulation under the future EU Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF).
This exchange took place at a very early stage of the legislative process, allowing the Belgian-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce (CCBP) to bring concrete input directly to the table and ensure that business, territorial and sectoral realities are heard from the outset.
The discussion focused on:
 âĄď¸ improving the monitoring and impact of EU funding while reducing administrative burden;
 âĄď¸ avoiding unintended dependency effects and ensuring that EU financial support delivers real, measurable results;
 âĄď¸ the mainstreaming of horizontal priorities, including gender equality, environmental sustainability and social impact.
On behalf of CCBP members, the President underlined the importance of pragmatic, proportionate and predictable frameworks that work across entire value chains and support competitiveness, innovation and long-term investment.
The CCBP thanks MEP Ana Vasconcelos for allowing stakeholders to have their voices conveyed directly into the European Parliament's work.
This is precisely the role of a Chamber of Commerce: defending its members' interests where decisions are shaped. đ¤
