A week of connections, insights, and new opportunities!
Last Thursday, Kathleen Figueiredo Laissy had the pleasure of joining the Douro Business Sunset in Vila Nova de Gaia (Porto), at the invitation of Marisa Monteiro Borsboom, President of the Netherlands–Portugal Chamber of Commerce (CCINP).
Kathleen shared the stage with Miguel Frasquilho and João Magalhães for an inspiring conversation on leadership, resilience, and the opportunities in today’s challenging context.
She shared her perspective as the recently appointed President of the Belgian–Portuguese Chamber of Commerce (CCBP), with a vision to modernise, revitalise, and position our Chamber as a hub for business opportunities between Portugal, Belgium, and the wider EU. She also underlined the importance of more women in leadership positions and the strategic role of Portuguese communities in the Benelux — especially in key sectors like technology and defence, which are at the core of the EU’s new priorities.
Earlier in the week, Kathleen was in Lisbon and took the time to meet CCBP members based in Portugal:

🤝 Kathleen also met with Jo Smets, new President of the Portuguese–Belgian–Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce (CCLBL) in Lisbon, and founder of BluePanda Solutions.
They discussed exciting common objectives, including a yearly joint event alternating between Belgium and Portugal.
