ABOUT THE CHAMBER

HOW DOES THE CCBP HELP PORTUGUESE INDIVIDUALS AND ENTERPRISES ENTERING THE BELGIAN MARKET?

We can offer tailored support including market intelligence, legal and fiscal insights, matchmaking services, and network introductions. Through our events and working groups, SMEs gain visibility and access to key stakeholders. We also help them understand local business culture, and in some cases, we can provide soft landing support in collaboration with partners. In addition, our location in Brussels allows us to connect SMEs with specialists in EU funding, regulation, and compliance. For many growing companies, accessing the Belgian market also means navigating EU rules—whether in labelling, data protection, ESG reporting, or certification. Our network includes professionals who deal with these challenges daily and can provide guidance or partnership. We help SMEs not just export—but scale with the right strategic foundations.

WHAT ADDED VALUE DOES THE CCBP OFFER COMPARED TO OTHER CHAMBERS?

The CCBP offers deep cultural and linguistic understanding, a multisectoral and binational board, and a very pragmatic, results-driven approach. We're a small but agile Chamber with strong ties to both business and institutional actors, which allows us to react quickly and tailor our support to members' needs. Our proximity to EU institutions and our embeddedness in Brussels' policy ecosystem are major assets. We bring not only businesses together but also link them with regulators, lawmakers, funding experts, and thought leaders. In addition, we offer a gateway to the broader Lusophone world—something few chambers in Brussels can claim. We also value collaboration. Rather than operating in isolation, we actively seek partnerships with other chambers and business networks to co-create events and offer our members richer content and connections. This ecosystem approach is key to helping our members scale in small but strategic markets. But what truly differentiates us is our presence in Brussels and our strong EU institutional and lobbying ecosystem. Many of our members work directly with the European Commission, Parliament, and stakeholder platforms. This creates a unique interface between business needs and EU policy realities—we offer our members not just a network, but a gateway to information, influence, and opportunity at the EU level.

WHAT TYPES OF COMPANIES ARE CURRENTLY SHOWING INTEREST IN THE CHAMBER?

We are seeing growing interest from a diverse group of companies: Portuguese firms wanting to expand their footprint in northern Europe, Belgian companies sourcing from or investing in Portugal, and increasingly, businesses looking to leverage the Portuguese language as an economic asset, as well as startups looking to internationalise. The growing diversification of our network consists of companies and individuals from the most diverse areas: Public affairs, law, IT, tech companies, retailers, and gastronomy and culture promoters are some of the few areas with strong representation in our network of contacts. But, of course, the Chamber is open to anyone, interested to strengthen their (and/or their company's) relationship with the Belgian and Portuguese market.

HOW WILL THE CHAMBER EXPAND ITS INTERNATIONAL REACH IN THE NEXT YEARS AHEAD?

We strongly believe that internationalisation must be tangible. That’s why we are committed to organising at least one trade mission per year, alternating between Portugal and its autonomous regions and Belgium, and focusing on high-potential sectors such as tech, renewable energy, or agro-food. These missions are designed to combine institutional access, market exploration, and B2B meetings, providing a full 360º experience to participants. Beyond that, we will continue to collaborate with other chambers, CPLP embassies, and EU-related business platforms to position the CCBP as a connector of ideas, opportunities, and international networks. The goal is simple: to help our members grow—strategically, sustainably, and globally.

MEMBER BENEFITS

HOW DO I PARTICIPATE IN THE CHAMBER'S OCCURING EVENTS?

Most events organized or co-hosted by the CCBP are always advertised through social media, the website, the newsletter or other related e-mail communication. On most of the occasions the member can sign up through a form, usually linked at the same places of promotion, specifically created for RSVP purposes. For paid events, the fee will always make itself clear through the form or the rest of its advertisement. The Chamber sometimes also organizes events for a more exclusive audience. If a personalized invite gets received through your contact address, do not hesitate to confirm your presence by replying to said contact directly.

CAN I COUNT WITH THE CHAMBER'S HELP TO ORGANIZE AN EVENT?

Of course. The Chamber is ready to assist any entity on organising meetups, debates, dinners or other kinds of events. We can help on gathering interested people from our contacts list to attend it, and if necessary to take care of aspects such as spaces to host the event or catering services directly from our members to go alongside the gathering. Any sort of ideas that promote a fruitful environment to share thoughts and establish new connections between entities is always welcome. Feel free to contact us detailing your vision and main topics regarding your event, and we will soon do a follow-up.

HOW DO I TAKE PART ON A "MEET THE MEMBERS" INTERVIEW?

The "Meet the Members" initiative relies through the monthly contact of members, asking for their availability for an interview. However, do not hesitate to contact us directly if you are fond and want to participate on it, and we will provide you more information, including the questions used for the interview. If you had already participated in the "Meet the Members" initiative recently, please refrain from contacting in order to give the opportunity to other Members. However, if you see any mistake or incongruence within your interview, please let us know in order to update it if necessary. The Chamber's objective is to dedicate each month to a different member, and to highlight the broad network of contacts at our disposal, so we hope to count on you to help make this initiative (and your own business) grow.

I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE NEWS THROUGH THE NEWSLETTER, HOW TO PROCEED?

If you are a member and want to highlight a specific event or occasion about your institution, please feel free to contact us with the necessary information to be shared. The type of content presented will further determine the media where it will be shared — either through the newsletter, the "News from Members" section at the website, or the CCBP social media (or all three of them).
